INNA: Live la Arenele Romane
(2011)

INNA: Live la Arenele Romane (Romanian for Inna: Live at the Roman Arenas) was the first major headlining concert show held by Romanian dance performer Inna.[1] The concert was held at the Arenele Romane (the Roman arenas), a old-time Romanian shows venue in the Carol Park from Bucharest. The concert was sponsored by FHM music (a part of FHM magazines) alongside Vodafone Romania.[2] The concert gathered a total of over 5,000 fans, only 1000 of them buying the full-prize tickets at 80 RON.[3] The show started at 7:00 PM (local time) with a performance by Play & Win (Inna's producers), than continued with a show held by Romanian band Akcent and the opening show ended up with a performance by Alex Velea, who brought on the stage Smiley, another famous Romanian act. Inna arrived jumping from a helicopter right on the stage. The concert lasted for round fifty minutes and featured an encore, in which Inna invited her fans to jump onto the stage and dance with her, hinting that "It's not only a show, this is a party and I need some guests to my party". During the show, Inna premiered her brand new hit-to-be, entitled "Club Rocker".

Background

The concert was firstly announce on March 16, 2011 and the tickets have been available online for a price of 80 RON (~$20) with many additional deductions.[4] In the latter days, UTV Romania organized a contest and decided to send five gangs and five duos to the concert, following the results.[5] Inna announced that the show will be a blast and no one will be able to forget it very soon. It was intended to be the concert of the year in Romania, but as Shakira, Roxette and Bon Jovi are also on the list of performers in Romania, the awaiting wasn't fullfiled. Inna's team chose as opening acts the Romanian dance trio Akcent, the Pop icon Alex Velea and Inna's producers Play & Win.[1] Additionally, Smiley and FHM entertainers have also been present that night. SENSOR and "GuitarINNA" were also present on May 17. The concert was meant to begin on 7:00 PM (local time) with the opening acts but it was delayed a little bit. An afterparty was also organized.

Concert synopsis

The concert began at 6:45 PM (local time) with a Karaoke warm-up. The entertainers encouraged the audience to sing-along to known song by Akcent. The concert-itself commenced with the appearance on stage of Play & Win, which mixed a number of current international hits (such as "On the Floor" or "One (Your Name)".) Then, they performed as an encore their biggest hits: "Only", "Slow Motion" and "Ya BB". Their performance was followed by Akcent, the famous Romanian Pop/Dance trio. They sang a string of old and new top-ten hits such as "Dragoste de închiriat", "Buchet de trandafiri", "Jokero", "Stay With Me", "That's My Name" or "My Passion". The last opening act was Alex Velea, known for hits such as "Yamasha", "Dragoste la prima vedere", "Doar ea" or "One Shot". He was accompanied on the stage by Smiley, another fellow artist to perform their featuring hit "Bani de dat". During this performance, fake banknotes were thrown onto the crowd. After this show, a Inna-wannabe performed a club oriented song to distract the attention as Inna was flying over the Arena on a helicopter. As a staff mamber hinted to the crowd that they should look up to the sky, Inna made her appearance jumping from the helicopter right in the middle of the stage. After raws of applauses, Inna performed "Sun is Up". The second track to be performed was "10 Minutes" and her smash hit "Amazing". Exclusively, Inna performed her brand new hit-to-be "Club Rocker" taken off her upcoming album - "I Am the Club Rocker". Afterwards, Inna sang a medley of "Grenade", "(I've Had) the Time of My Life" and "Born This Way". Up-next were the hits "Hot" (where Inna said that she have firstly not approved to sing a dance song, so she performed the bridge of the song in Romanian - "ce să mai fac?" instead of "what can I do?") and "Deja Vu". As an encore, Inna returned to the stage in order to perform "I Gotta Feeling" where she insisted that her fans should be let to jump onto the stage so they can have fun together and a bis of "Sun is Up". The concert ended up with confetti thrown all over the crowd.
